Ain't that the truth

Also Wilson is a better actor than  Kristen Stewart, signifigantly more emotional connection.

A miniskirt and a texan

A beautiful young woman in a short, tight mini skirt was waiting at a crowded bus stop. When the bus arrived and she attempted to get on, she found her skirt was too tight to allow her foot to come up to the height of the first step. Slightly embarrassed, and with a shy smile to the bus driver, she reached behind her to unzip the skirt a little, figuring that would give it enough slack that she could make the step. But it didn’t. So she reached back and unzipped it a little more. Still no luck.

Now thoroughly embarrassed, she reached behind her and unzipped it all the way. But, much to her chagrin, she still couldn’t lift her leg high enough to step up onto the bus. Just then a large Texan who was standing behind her in line wrapped his arm around her waist and lifted her gently onto the bus.

She went ballistic and turned to the would-be Samaritan yelling, “How dare you touch my body? I don’t even know who you are!” The Texan smiled and drawled, “Well ma’am, normally I would agree with you, but after you unzipped my fly three times, I kinda figured we was friends!”

Better safe than sorry

A Kentucky State Trooper was patrolling late at night off the main highway. He sees a couple in a car, with the interior light brightly glowing.

He carefully approaches the car to get a closer look. Then he sees a young man behind the wheel, reading a computer magazine. He immediately notices a young woman in the rear seat, filing her fingernails.

Puzzled by this surprising situation, the trooper walks to the car and gently raps on the driver's window. The young man lowers his window. 'Uh, yes, Officer?'

The trooper asks: 'What are you doing?'

The young man says: 'Well, Officer, I'm reading a magazine.'

Pointing towards the young woman in the back seat the trooper says: 'And her, what is she doing?'

The young man shrugs: 'Sir, I believe she's filing her fingernails.'

Now, the trooper is totally confused. A young couple, alone, in a car, at night in a lover's lane ... And nothing obscene is happening!

The trooper asks: 'What's your age, young man?' The young man says: 'I'm 22, sir.'

The trooper asks: 'And her .... what's her age?'

The young man looks at his watch and replies: 'She'll be 18 in 11 minutes..

Sin Tax

So they jacked up the taxes on cigarettes on 4/1/09 and also added sales tax to  liquor and beer. This is the so called SIN TAX that was recently passed. The cost of a carton of smokes is going up almost $10, last I checked a carton of camels was $49.90 with tax.

Ok so we all get the point, they are trying to use the cost of cigarettes and booze coupled with the bad economy to force people to quit smoking. Of course they claim that it is to pay for schools and health care. Let me pose a hypothetical question what happens if they are successful and most people quit smoking. Doesn't that mean they wont have the money for schools and health care?

Sadly it seems that their "make them so expensive no one can afford them" gambit is working. I know of at least 10 people, all of whom are long term smokers that are quitting or trying to quit.

I of course am among these people. I haven't given up on nicotine completely, but i have switched to this handy little device known an as E-Cig. They come in several shapes and sizes, from the size of a cigarette , or a bic pen, all the way up to  a pipe or a cigar. I personally use an NJOY NCIG, it is about the size of a bic pen and so far has been a nice replacement for its analog counterpart.

Now I did this for three reasons.

1: Cost, as the cartridge equivalent of a carton of smokes will only run you about 20 bucks (read $30 cheaper than most cigs). That is for a pack of 5 cartridges each one equivalent to ~2 packs of cigarettes.

2: Health, in lieu of the 4000 or so components of tobacco smoke there is a maximum of 12 chemicals in the nicotine solution. The traditional flavor regular (high) strength cartridges I use lists exactly 4. NicotineFlavoring,Propylene Glycol, and Water (I refuse to wiki link fucking water). Can anyone blame me for wanting to be alive and well longer so I can bitch more?

3: Convenience, as there is a damn near militant smoking ban here in Louisville. I once again can "smoke" in bars, hotels, restaurants, and such. Not to mention places I have never been able to smoke like the movies, my mother's house, and hospitals. They claim it is legal to use on planes but I have yet to have this confirmed. Personally I think you would have more trouble getting the device on a plane than you would taking it in into the lavatory and getting that fix that will keep you from choking that annoying brat behind you on that 12 hour flight.

So in short I encourage everone to write/call/email your congress-critter, and in the meantime the Njoy product line should be a nice replacement.

P.S. I'll harp on this a bit more when i have finished some research, also im going to do a full review of the N-Cig A little later this week

Smoking in movies to affect ratings?

Alright so, I have done some research and have reached a conclusion.

I missed something at some point.

The Following is a excerpt from a USA Today article By Scott Bowles,

USA TODAY LOS ANGELES — Smoking isn't only bad for your health. If you're a filmmaker, it may be bad for your movie.

The Motion Picture Association of America said Thursday that it would scrutinize smoking more closely as part of its ratings criteria.

Underage smoking has always been considered behavior that could warrant a tougher rating, the MPAA said in its release. Now, "all smoking will be considered and depictions that glamorize smoking or ... feature pervasive smoking outside of an historic or other mitigating context" could warrant a more prohibitive rating, the organization said.

The MPAA has been under increasing fire to revamp its ratings criteria, particularly involving smoking. The San Francisco-based center Smoke Free Movies claims that movies are responsible for 5,000 smoking-related deaths a month that might have been prevented by an R rating. The group also says movies are responsible half of the 800,000 children a year who start smoking.

Or this little gem from a site for parents to review movies, this one from a review for the classic Disney flick 101 dalmatians

Talk about the movie with your family...

When this movie was made in 1961, portrayals of smoking were very common. What has changed to make such depictions politically incorrect? Do you think other kinds of behaviors shown in today's movies may go out of fashion in the future?

Alright so the whole anti smoking movement has lost its fucking mind.
